I am proud of my collaborative work with the HIMSS TIGER International Task Force. Being able to work with such great minds and diverse expertise is truly phenomenal.
My advice to anyone considering a career in health information and technology is to jump in. The industry is ripe with opportunities, and there is so much taking place in health innovation relating to the pandemic. It is a promising career pathway for anyone, whether you are an early careerist or a senior executive.
The health information and technology environment is very transformative. It has rapidly evolved over the last decade and even more so over the past few years. We see this in examples like artificial intelligence and machine learning. The pandemic surprised all of us in 2020, and health technologies that were not as popular – like telemedicine and telehealth – have become revolutionary technologies. It is confirmation of the transformative nature of the health information and technology environment.
