The Annual State of Healthcare

Join the Greater Kansas City Chapter for our annual State of Healthcare event. We are delighted to welcome Chad Austin, President of the Kansas Hospital Association, and Jon Doolittle, President of the Missouri Hospital Association, back to St. Luke's here in Kansas City. We'll open with a few words from Hal Wolf, President and CEO of HIMSS, followed by live presentations and Q&A with Chad and Jon. We will end witha panel discussion interviewing local experts John Travis with JFT PRG LLC, and Dave Lingerfelt with Rockhurst University. The discussion will center on how healthcare is evolving, provide legislative updates and explore ideas on how to foster partnership and communication at the local, regional and national levels.

About our Speakers

Chad Austin became president and CEO of the Kansas Hospital Association in September 2020. He began his career at KHA in 1999 as the director of data services.    
Throughout Chad’s tenure at the hospital association, he has held responsibilities for managing the association’s data related activities, rural health and Critical Access Hospital issues, and the oversight of the Kansas Rural Health Options Project. Prior to becoming president and CEO, he was the primary government relations representative overseeing all state and federal advocacy initiatives for the association.   
In his role as president and CEO of KHA, he serves on the Board of the Health Alliance of Mid-America, a joint venture between the Kansas Hospital Association and the Missouri Hospital Association, the KAMMCO Board, the Board of the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative, and the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association.

Jon D. Doolittle is the President and CEO of the Missouri Hospital Association, the trade association serving the state’s 140 hospitals and 20 health systems. The association provides a variety of services for its members, including: federal, state and local governmental representation and advocacy; health care policy development; public and professional education; quality improvement and safety initiatives; research; and public and media relations and communications.
Before joining MHA, Mr. Doolittle served as Regional President of Mosaic Medical Center – Albany, formerly known as Northwest Medical Center, which provides care for the people of Northwest Missouri through a critical access hospital located in Albany, Missouri; four primary care clinics; and a variety of community partnerships. Jon’s health care experience includes more than 11 years working in a variety of roles with Cerner Corporation, a Kansas City-based health care information systems company. Prior to
Cerner, he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, where he concentrated in Government and a master’s degree in Healthcare Leadership and Management from the University of Texas at Dallas.
